We believe in three things: users, users, users.

Greenbank

Greenbank College screenshotZoom in

sdesign1 and e-blueprint worked together on this project to produce four sites for The Greenbank Project: Greenbank Charity, Greenbank College, Greenbank Employment and Greenbank Employment Services

The CMS used was Wordpress for all four sites and the client was delighted to ditch Dreamweaver and use something much simpler. They have the ability to change the header images themselves which they have used to great effect. They can also add and modify their own forms. Training was provided to ensure that they keep the site accessible and use it to effectively market their four sites.

Prescriptions to You

Prescriptions to you screenshotZoom in

sdesign1 was pleased to be chosen by Prescriptions to You to develop both their website and an online application which allows customers to register for prescription renewals. The application enables customers to enter their medication and renewal dates. Email reminders are then sent to the customer and to Prescriptions to You shortly before the prescription is due for renewal. Customers can choose from available slots to have medication delivered to an address of their choice.

An admin panel allows the Prescriptions to You team to monitor orders, deliveries, renewals, overdue prescriptions and manage customers.

The CMS used was Drupal as this allowed us to develop the bespoke prescriptions application within the CMS.

Dreamhigh

Dream High screenshotZoom in

sdesign1 worked closely with e-blueprint to develop this classy and engaging site. The CMS used was Joomla. It was nice to be involved in a project that supports local businesses in the community. Features include an RSS feed, secure login for subscribers and polls. Hopefully this new site will contribute to greater support for local businesses and showcase some of the success stories.

Old Swan Business Association

Old Swan Business Association screenshotZoom in

The new Old Swan Business Association was designed to show off a thriving shopping centre in South Liverpool that hosts a multitude of businesses and shops. The CMS used was Wordpress. We added on a searchable database of companies that can be administered by Old Swan BA and the ability to send out a newsletter round up for each month summarising announcements made on the site. Each member can update their own page and new categories can be added via a simple admin interface.

sadvise

sadvise screenshotZoom in

The new sadvise web site showcases our continuing focus on visually aesthetic design used to reinforce the brand and credentials of a company. The purpose of this site is to provide some summary information and demonstrate expertise. Any company in working in the IT sector has to show its professional competence via its Website and that's what the sadvise Website does. The CMS used was Drupal. We customised it so that unecessary and unused menu options were hidden away so client isn't overcome by a complex admin interface.

Abbeygate College

Abbeygate College screenshotZoom in

The new Abbeygate College web site sends out the message that the school expects high standards in all spheres. The home page sports a flash clip (yes we do Flash!) that users can pause if they find it distracting. Personally we think all embedded flash clips should have this option. Drupal is the Content Management System (CMS) behind it and has been used to create extranets for parents, pupils and staff. It is a very intuitive CMS, that allows a logged in editor to navigate the site as usual and edit pages. It is a very extendable CMS - a lot of people get put off when they see a demo version as it doesn't look that pretty. We think the Abbeygate College web site shows what can be done with Drupal.

Promote the Vote

Promote the vote screenshotZoom in

Recently, sdesign1 has teamed up with Easy Read Online to deliver a number of websites for people with learning difficulties. We worked closely together to produce a site that uses video to explain the contents of each page to visitors. The site supports a number of workshops aimed at getting people with learning difficulties involved in the voting process. Buttons tend to be large and use icons and a stylesheet changer allows users to set the colour scheme without having to dive into the internal settings of their browser.

BNI Riverside

BNI Riverside screenshotZoom in

We recently created a web site for the Riverside chapter of BNI. The Content Management System behind it is WordPress (again). Each member has the ability to update their own page and soon will be able to post articles and business tips. Out the box Wordpress has fairly basic user permission settings so we added a plugin that allowed members to have the ability to only update their own page. Mind you, it could have been fun allowing them to update each other's pages as there are some mischevious characters in BNI Riverside. We'll also be adding photos and videos soon.

Liverpool Business Associations

We revamped the Liverpool Business Associations' Website giving it a clean professional look. It also has a database of approximately 300 members on it which is searchable by keyword, category or by an alphabetical listing. Sitting behind it is a content management system that allows the client to easily update pages, add images and documents and administer the database of 300 clients. Each member can edit their own page and upload a company logo. The client can easily add news items to the site ensuring that content is constantly updated.

Esentia

Esentia screenshotZoom in

One of our most elegant sites showing our range of design skills, the Esentia Web Site belongs to a beauty spa based in South Liverpool. One of the advantages of using an open source Content Management System is that they have hundreds of freely available plugins to extend functionality. We've used a Flickr plugin to create a gallery page which pulls in photos from Flickr. The big advantage to doing it this way is that Flickr handles all the resizing of images and creation of thumbnails - the client can just upload full size photos.

Childwall Sports Centre

Childwall Sports Centre screenshotZoom in

We set a speed record on this project - from start to finish took 7 days. This doesn't mean we sacrificed quality though, as site exhibits excellent accessibility and valid code on all pages. Usability is improved by providing a site map, search box, and breadcrumbs navigation. The site uses WordPress as a Content Management System and has a fresh healthy look to it! WordPress 2.5 really demonstrates WordPress's coming of age as a CMS. Images, documents and videos can easily be added via the media manager. The new admin interface is incredibly easy to use and much more streamlined.

Clinch Solicitors

Clinch Solicitors screenshotZoom in

Another Joomla site, Clinch Solicitors sports a lot of functionality. The site has been built from the ground up to be marketed online and has huge amounts of content, some pulled in by RSS. The site has stylesheets to ensure it performs well on handheld devices and every page validates - not bad for such a large site. As can be expected from us the site has a high level of accessibility.

Myriad Travel

Myriad Travel screenshotZoom in

Another beautiful looking content managed standards compliant web site. The Content Management System is Wordpress which the client has found particularly easy to use. Each section has a different header, and client can post announcements and edit pages. We tweaked the WordPress search facility and came up with an even better search. It's important for travel sites to look good and this one does exactly that.

Calibre Reprographics

Calibre Repro screenshotZoom in

A quality site for a quality printer. The new site demonstrates Calibre's focus on visual excellence and attention to detail. We threw in a logo too as part of some brand development. This is another web site updated using WordPress. It really works well as a simple to use CMS. The design is a customised version of the Freshy theme. The client was very impressed by the turnaround time on this site - that's the beauty of WordPress..

MJF Accountancy

MJF screenshotZoom in

As an accountancy practice grows so should their web site. This web site can also grow with your monitor too! Try resizing your browser window and see what happens to header graphic. A new alert box allows client to post the latest news concerning changes to tax regulations. We went the extra mile on this one moving it to our servers free of charge when Fasthost failed to fix a bug on theirs. Layout is liquid so page fills your screen no matter what size.

This site shows the power of Wordpress and themes. We took the Fjords theme and customised it with a new header and a few plugins here and there and hey presto a site that looks gorgeous and has plenty of functionality. Check out the gallery page. If you fancy a trip to Puffin Island to get away from it all, visit this site. Client will be adding more content shortly - when he comes back from his latest cruise!!

ISE screenshotZoom in

A company whose aim is 'Improving Sales Effectiveness' needs to demonstrate its grasp of the importance of the web - a start is a professional looking web site. We availed ourselves of their services and were very impressed. Unlike other 'coaches' they provide practical nitty gritty advice on how to carry out a sales campaign. Client said they were amazed at how easy it was to update their site. I think they put all the content on in one night!

Groundwork

Elus Screenshot Zoom in

This is a closed web application available only to subscribers. It allows companies to track environmental legislation and their level of compliance with it. Each company comments on the legislation and what they are doing to comply, thus creating an audit trail. Legislation is served up according to company location so they only see legislation relevant to their region.
